David Leiva was born in Almería but raised in Barcelona which is where he currently resides. With ten years began his musical career studying classical guitar and music theory. He is graduated in Pedagogy of classical and flamenco guitar.

Nowadays he teaches flamenco guitar in the “Conservatori del Liceu of Barcelona”.

Since 2008 has created its own methodology, being admired and respected by gender specialists and guitarists worldwide. He is the author of the following books which have all received good reviews of specialist in the genre and musicians in general:

He signs and tries the guitars of the prestigious luthier “Juan Montes – Azahar” and has propelled two pioneer flamenco guitar packs with the Real Musical brand.
As a soloist he has performed in many theatres, music festivals and international well-known concert halls. He has founded the David Leiva Group. With this musical band he has performed in several national and international tours. His experience as a guitar accompanist led him to perform with well-known flamenco’s cante and baile artists.

In 2012 released his first album “Fuente Victoria” a disc with nine exceptional compositions.
